The Holidays Issue: "Introducing the Reason"

The Holiday Issue: "Introducing the Reason"

They say you should never look a gift horse in the mouth. I have no idea where that came from, but I grew up hearing it. Holidays are like that, I didn't use to know where they came from, but growing up I had one perspective about them I heard from others.

What I heard when I was younger greatly influenced how I treated holidays.

Jesus wasn't big on on Holidays. He didn't run to them or run from them, in each he addressed them.

During one particular popular holiday Jesus said,

"I am the Light of the World"

At that holiday, it would have the same effect as standing up and saying,

"I am Santa Claus."

He neither validated that holiday by attending it, or invalidated by adding, changing, or applying new meaning to it. He used it.

Holidays are like that. You can use them or you can abuse them. The choice is really up to you.

  • Can a Christian enjoy Holidays?
  • Can a Christian make a difference in the Holidays?
  • Can a Christian be absent from the Holidays?
  • Can a Christian find meaning in the Holidays?

The bottom line will always be religion vs tradition and social norms. That underscores the controversy because you have a purpose and reason for being alive.

If you have children you know one of the reasons for the purpose you are here. Your children's sake.

The question you have to decide on holidays is how and what do i really want to do? Or am I just doing something to fit in?

I do know the answer to that, Jesus addressed it, but Americans refuse to live it. So, since we are in abject rebellion as to the Lordship of Jesus Christ over those who say they are his.

As the holidays approach, we will address each one in their season.

The Political Issue: "Defining the Limits"

The Political Issue: "Defining the Limits"

They say you should never argue politics or religion, but religion in America is so Humanized now I can't ignore the fact that though Jesus was not a politician, it is obvious as Jesus Said,

"The Gentiles love to exercise authority over one another"

Of course He said Don't do as they do, but I think from Pastoral Autocracy, to Denominational Papacy, we have seen in roughly two thousand years, Jesus was right.
"The Gentiles love to exercise authority over one another"

Since we have Preachers in the Pulpit and Political, it must be addressed as an Issue facing Christians today even though we are clearly told, "Don't get into it". How then do we differentiate between being a "political person" and not making Jesus into a "fundamentalist, conservative, republican (or democrat) and hold the line at the difference between faith and politics.

Can a Christian be a Democrat?Can a Christian be a Republican?Can a Christian be Political?

The bottom line will always be religion vs relationship and that underscores the controversy because you have a relationship to the nation you live in, or, you have a duty.

The question then is, is your relationship and duty to God and Country,or God or Country?

I do know the answer to that, Jesus addressed it, but Americans refuse to live it. So, since we are in abject rebellion as to the Lordship of Jesus Christ over those who say they are his.

WOW What a Ride!!!

WOW  What a Ride!!!
As I have been challenged recently by the other blogs, I have recognized the need to prayerfully evaluate and consider each one in light of time and effort.
For me, the 14 hour days of posting these last 5 months have produced some awesome results....,

though I admit, it it were a "trump" or a "success" coach, they would look at me and scratch their head and say...Huh?

But the problem they have is they measure success in numbers..., and like any mega-pastor should already know of they are a mega ministry. Mega Most of the people aren't saved...., or learning. They are like Jesus said, "The Crowds seeking a sign"

Out of thousands, you figure 120 to 70 to 12.

If you get Twelve out of a Mega Church you are doing good..., And most will argue me on that one!!

5 months in ministry Blogs now has produced massive changes in style and format as I learned the ropes of the social nightmare on the Web and the personal cost each had on me personally.

SO MUCH GROWTH.

As with everything I do, I went "whole hog or nothing" and averaged 60 posts a day for quite some time, collapsing at night exhausted as I presented several venues and multiple ways to "Get Jesus out There" and wake up the Body of Believers to the potential for ministry and meeting people where they are at.

Learning a lot, I saw real issues people are facing in finding facts and not fancy on the Web as well as Scripture and not scripting people for their money. WOW has Christianity really gotten into MAKING A BUCK....

Stepping back I see a need to prune.
I garden so I know the benefits are massive growth and fruit.

With volunteers I would like to expand, but for now....
Last Call is 12 devotionals
Classic Christian will restart Monday with 12 posts.
Michael James Stone will stay Topical but have a New Format and Labels to find Issues
What Do You Believe will change and add Questions and Answers section addressing and posting from Got Questions, and Grace thru Faith, with "My Perspective"
Last Generation will change and develop Full Label search and Prophecy only site.

By New Years, we hope all these will be finished.
