The Kingdom of God Suffers Violence..Kill or be killed?

One of the greatest things Jesus did in confronting experts in Jewish Law was to separate God's Will from The Legal System. Jesus took authority and claimed ability to state the Way of God as opposed to a Way to God.

The difference being, if you needed to get TO GOD, you needed to be righteous and holy........ so the Jewish religious leaders, Scribes, Pharisee's Sadducee, Herodians, Sages, Tzaddiccum, many wise men and counselors of Jewish Religious Practice, all determined HOW you could Get to God and have your request heard or answered.

Almost all, involved a priest and or a Law that required you to do and to act in a prescribed manner in order to approach God. Since God had created you, there was law all of your life that you being a created being, must do, to be, or to get, closer to God.

Jesus said those were good for the Outside of Man, but did nothing about the inside. He said The Way of God was to have God fulfill the promise that God would be IN MAN, Immanuel.

He said, If God is Spirit, which all agreed, Man must become Spirit to worship God in order to do so in actuality and in truth. Man must be Born Again.

This wasn't a foreign idea, Jewish religious philosophy had dealt with subject like this before and reached a "idea" like Jesus was saying.

But what was so profound was Jesus was not saying things philosophically, like a Philo or a Greco Hellenistic influence thinking that plagued the Pharasee's, but this was being spoken as literal.

Jesus wasn't kidding........... and all in direct contact were taken back by the directness and the bluntness of his statement.

He didn't claim a Point of View, He said, This IS The Way.

Arguably..... scholars can debate points of social behaviour and consequence and the greatest minds on the planet were available on the planet for followers and those who knew Jesus to discuss as the Greek World, the Roman World, the Hellinized Jews, the Philo Jews, the Pharasees, Saduccees, Sages and Masters all struggled to interpret what Jesus Said when he stated:

Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

The confusion was thinking Murder and Killing were seperate and so when people wanted to interpret Jesus they would leave the next few words out:

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

But I say unto you,

Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

That all sounds good for Jesus, He had a purpose to fulfill, he died so we don't have to. He gave his life so we can have a perfect set of checks and balances and make a Christian Nation where we can get away with murder.....

Ok. Love your Enemy. Leave it there. If you can define Love as killing, I can adjust that to include my wife, my child, my dis-agreeable situation, even my interpretation of my brand of Christian Religion.

But, you can't argue with what Jesus Said, "Love Your Enemy"

That means, we open ourselves up to the 90% probability that some one is going to kill us. Some us is going to spitefully use us. Some evil is going to come upon us, some how some way, we have to supposedly Trust God to take care of us......., or worse, learn to get along.

Abraham is called the Father of OUR FAITH. He was told, kill Isaac. If you are a Jewish Scholar you know some Rabbi's say Abraham had no expectancy of killing him, and if you are a fan of some contemporary Christians Authors you know that Abraham was as confident that if He did kill him he would be resurrected....

The Point is, God told Him, He did it, God Spared Him. How big is your God? How real?

Jesus Said, Resist not evil,

and before there was a Holocaust, something far worse occurred. The Followers of Jesus obeyed and for at least two to three centuries, martyrs followed Jesus and died rather than resist and be exercising their LEGAL RIGHTS.

You can call it impractical, you can call it extreme, you can it foolhardy, in those days back then because it was so easy to kill them they called it "little christs" as a label to shame them, which we take as glorious if we name ourselves the same as he.....

Christ Like....

Will you kill in the Name of God?
Will You Kill in the Name of Justice?
Will you be killed in the Name of "Christian"

A murderer is a murderer, a killer is a killer and a Christian is a Christian.
